String art - String art usually refers to an arrangement of string that forms abstract geometric patterns or patterns that resemble an object, such as a ship's sails, sometimes with other artist material comprising the remainder of the work. The string may be wound around a grid of nails that are hammered into a velvet covered wooden board.

Abstract art - Abstract art is now generally understood to mean art that does not depict objects in the natural world, but instead uses shapes and colours in a non-representational or subjective way.
